Getting Involved in Church Planting

The Launching Zone is a volunatary network of church planters and churches that have a missional mindset and are committed to multiplying churches in our state and around the world. There are numerous ways that you as an individual or your church can get involved in church planting through the Launching Zone.

Join Our Prayer Network

We are seeking people who will commit to regular prayer for church planting in our area. These individuals need to have a heart for kingdom work and be committed to praying for specific needs of current and future church plants. I will send out a monthly email newsletter that will highlight prayer concerns involving church planting in our area.

Join a Church Planting Core Group

Over the next few months we will have several church planting core groups forming in several areas. If you feel that God is calling you to step out of your comfort zone and help plant a new church in this area, we encourage you to contact the church planter of a team in your area and see if you would be a good fit for their particular type of church. Some core group members may join the church plant for a short time (to help launch the new church), while others will feel called to join the church as a member.

If you would like to get involved in helping a core group to get started, we ask that you contact your current pastor to let him know of your desire. If possible we would like to ask that your home church would commission you as a church planting core group member and send you off with the blessings and support of your church. This way you can give regular updates of the progress of the church plant to your home church. Remember that you do not have to give up your home church membership until you decide to join the new church. Most church plants do not accept members until they constitute as an official church which may be some time after they officially launch.
